Knife-weilding Home Invader Says He Was Making A Sandwich!
posted (December 19, 2011)
Twenty year old construction worker Marin Antonio Alvarenga, who allegedly entered a house as a trespasser and attacked a 15 year old girl with a knife, was charged with aggravated burglary when he appeared today in the Magistrate court.

Alvarenga pleaded not guilty to the charge, the prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that the offence has become prevalent and that the defendant might interfere with the complainant if granted bail.

When asked by the magistrate, Roberto Ordonez, to give a good reason why he should be granted bail, Alvarenga said the girl's mother invited him to the house and while he was there he became hungry and he went to the kitchen and took a knife to cut a piece of bread. Alvarenga said when the girl entered the kitchen and saw him with the knife she became frightened and she ran.

Magistrate Ordonez was not satisfied with Alvarenga's explanation so he upheld the objection and remanded Alvarenga into custody until December 30. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Friday December 16 at a house at West Collet Canal Street.

The girl reported to the police that she was at home when Alvarenga entered the house as a trespasser and attacked her with a knife. The girl said she managed to get away from him and she ran out of the house.
