The McBride's had just left a staff party and while walking towards their vehicle that was parked outside the gates of the Barrow and Williams Law Firm on Albert Street when - a man approached them - demanding that they hand over their possessions. Today Barbara McBride told 7news what happened that night - via telephone.

"Our vehicle was park just outside the gates of Equity House when a young man of creole decent, a clear skin creole young man came from across the street yielding a gun and demanding what possession we had."

"What did you guys handed over?"

"Well he took my purse and inside my purse was a cell phone, 2 iPods, $30, bank card, driver's license the he proceeded to pat-down my husband and then he notice my wedding ring and then he made well with my wedding ring as well."

"He had the gun in my husband stomach with one hand and then patted him down with the other hand. I think the total value of things are valued over $2,500 then my wedding ring itself is close to $1,500, it's not a regular ring its kinds rare here in Belize." "In general as a society we have to keep praying for people and make sure that we recognize that there are a lot of people in need and right now at Christmas time we realize the amount of violence within the city is going increase because of that kind of need but as a society we still need to stay positive and continue to turn to God to pray that whatever inkling of negativity and evil exists in people that God somehow works his power within them to try to stair them away harming other people."

The value of the items stolen from the McBride's amounted to three thousand, eight hundred and seventy dollars.
