posted (December 20, 2011)
She was carrying some Christmas dinner to her son in prison, but it instead, 53 year old Rosita Grey seems to have ended up carrying the ingredients for an irie Christmas!

She is accused of attempting to smuggle 130 grams of cannabis in 4 foam plates into the Belize Central Prison, and she was charged with drug trafficking when she appeared today in the Magistrate's court.

The domestic worker of 4-B Flamboyant Street pleaded not guilty to the charge. Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser offered her a bail of eight thousand dollars plus 2 sureties, which she met. Her case was adjourned until February 9.

The incident occurred yesterday. The police reported that they were called to the prison where Gray was handed over to them with 4 foam plates containing cannabis. A prison officer found the cannabis when the foam plates, which also contained food, were searched. Gray said she went to prison to visit her son and she was asked to take the foam plates to prison. She said she did not know cannabis was in the foam plates.
