After Almost Being Killed, Marta's Afraid Of Felipe Wagner
posted (December 21, 2011)
But back now to Felipe Wagner, he's free on bail, pending his hearing for the attempted murder of his wife Martha Wagner.

And indeed, accused persons are entitled to bail - and they are also innocent until proven guilty - as assured by the constitution.

It may be the law, but that is very little consolation for Martha Alicia Wagner.

She was almost killed on November 16th - allegedly by Felipe Wagner. She was just released from the hospital four days ago - after spending almost a month recovering from grave, life-threatening injury.

Today in her first interview since the terrible attack - she took Jim McFadzean to the scene of the stabbing on Rio Hondo Street in the Louisiana Street area of Orange Walk Town and told him why she's very, very scared - and wished her husband was still locked up:

Jim McFadzean
"It's said that what lead up to the stabbing is that your husband is accusing you of having an affair with his brother."

Jade Trapp - Daughter of Victim
"He is alleging that due to his obsession with her, just to justify what he did upon her; she is stating that even his family members have also had domestic disputes with different in-laws who they would actually anger and actually hurt them, even with her witnessing the type of violence. So, Ms. Donna Wagner is just trying to justify the false accusations that she is making against my mother. She is stating that if she doesn't have any evidence or proof of what she is alleging of her being with Mr. Felipe's brother, she wouldn't have the need to sue her through the courts."

Jim McFadzean
"The judge gave your husband bail today, saying that he didn't believe that there was a threat to your safety since he's going to be living with his mother in San Pablo."

Jade Trapp
"This situation is going back where he would constantly be making threats against her, and to the point of which he will not respect any types of decisions through the judge because he had previously threatened her of different things that he would do as soon as he gets out of jail. In her situation, she is extremely afraid for the entire family for herself because she is not in the condition to defend herself because the actual incident where it actually occurred, he surprisingly just came and stabbed her. She didn't have the opportunity to defend herself in anyway, where she could see the knife and do something about it. She fears for the same because he will not respect any type of order directed by the court. He had sent different threats through a prisoner when he was here in Orange Walk. We found out of that when she came over here in Orange Walk where he would give threats on behalf of this prisoner that he would return and burn the house, and do different things to her. He stated to his sister that he is publicly accepting what he did, so he is just trying to find excuses for his actions. I think it's not fair given the judge decision, even though we presented all the matters through the court. We presented different threats that he officially made. The court still decided to grant him bail, and we are in a risk of something that can happen to the entire family due to that decision. We are not happy with that decision any at all, even the DPP's Office is alleging that because it's a very serious accusation him."

Jim McFadzean
"It's a decision that has triggered even more allegations between the two feuding families: the family of the victim and the family of the accused."

Martha Wagner told us very firmly that the threatening text messages we reported on in our last story were not from her.

Those were shown to us by Felipe Wagner's family last Friday -but Martha Wagner maintains very strongly that neither she nor her family had anything to do with it.
