There's news coming out of Mexico tonight, that a man described as a well-known Belizean drug dealer has been busted by Mexican police after he was caught selling drugs in the city of Lazaro Cardenas in the state of Quintana Roo.
Luis Herlindo Leyva known in that city's underground circles as "El Beliceno" was put on display yesterday before Mexican media with a large quantity of drugs.
The bust included 35 bags of marijuana, pressure pills, packaging bags, cigarette wrapping paper, a cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Leyva was arrested just minutes after he sold two bags of marijuana to Mexican national Eulogio Coba Cupul. Cupul told police Leyva sold him the marijuana for 50 pesos per bag.
Leyva who is married to a Mexican resident of that city has a prior arrest record with Mexican authorities for drug peddling. He has served small time before but a Mexican news report says that this time he's headed for the Federal Prison in Cancun.
He is said to be a native of Orange Walk Town.
