No Force Armourer: Moss Gets Off Gun Charge
posted (December 28, 2011)
Twenty one year old Delroy Moss, a resident of Tigris Street charged with kept a prohibited firearm and ammunition without a gun license, was acquitted of the charges today in the Magistrate's Court.

The prosecution had already closed its case and the Force Armorer, Orlando Vera, whose testimony was crucial to the case, was not available to testify.

As a result, Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser told Moss that there was not sufficient evidence for her to call on him to answer the charge and she found him not guilty.

Moss was also charged with a mischievous act for telling police that his name was Delroy Gillett.

He pleaded guilty to that charge and he was fined $100 and was given time to pay. If he defaults on payment he will serve 1 month.

The incident occurred on March 13, 2010.

The police were on mobile patrol when they saw Moss at the corner of South Street and East Canal Street. The police testified that when they searched Moss they found him with one home made pistol and one round of 9 millimeter caliber ammunition.
