Chinese Acupuncturist Kevin Lee has been one of the biggest names making news in 2011. He created a major stir when it was revealed that he had secretly videotaped thousands of massage sessions with his clients - some of them from high society - and some in compromising positions.
His scandalous behavior became an international incident when he fled the country to avoid arrest. He was arrested in Los Angeles on the strength of an Interpol warrant - and returned to Belize on November eleventh.
Since then, the 67 year old - legally named - Kun Lin Lee has been on remand in prison, charged with aggravated assault of an indecent nature.
But today he went back to court, where he was released on a bail of $10,000.
Lee's bail was granted on the condition that he surrenders all his travel documents and that he reports to the Clerk of Court every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
And while Belize has no privacy laws that specifically prohibit secret videotaping of a consensual act, a 20 year old woman reported to the Police that it wasn't consensual. She says that when she went to Lee's Clinic on Freetown Road on April 6th, he fondled her private parts. We understand there are many video files depicting similar acts. Those are on hard drives retained by police as evidence.
