Dara Still Doing It
posted (February 3, 2012)
Grassroots Philanthropist - Dara Robinson is having his 9th annual Bob Marley birthday tribute concert this weekend. Like everything else Dara does, the concert is not only to celebrate the life of the reggae legend but to also raise money for needy families. Apart from that, he's having a food drive, and he's urging everyone to donate at least one can of food at the concert. But he is doing things a little different this year with 2 concerts instead of one. He told us more.

Dara Robinson
"God bless and the weather comes out nice. The show in Orange Walk is kind of set. This Saturday we will be at the People's Stadium on the basketball court. For the first time in nine years I am taking the show on the road. The vibes out there is nice. The people welcome me and treat me like Bob Marley."

"I am taking the same idea there for the food drive. There are some business people there putting the food together. I will have a barrel at the People's Stadium so that when people pass they can drop off food."

"The idea out there is the same that I do here. The food that I collect there will be distributed there. The people that will come to support can make the food drive bigger because my show is on the same level, so it is up to the people. Only they can make it bigger."

"We will be charging a fee of $5 because we know that these are hard times. Immediately the following day we will be in Belize City and we will be at the MCC tennis court from 4pm in the evening."

"I am asking people to come out and support and to bring a can food along because that it still important."

On Saturday the concert will be taking place at the People's Stadium in Orange Walk starting at 6 in the evening and on Saturday it will be taking place at the MCC Tennis Court in Belize City. Tickets are only 5 dollars.
