One PUP who does not have quite that level of team spirit is Alburn Rivero. The former, defeated candidate for PUP standard bearer in Belize Rural Central has announced that he is running as an independent.
Rivero declined an on-camera interview but told us that he is confident he can garner a majority of votes in Central.
He placed third in the PUP's divisional convention in June of 2011 - but told us plainly today that he was cheated.
Rivero's power-base is in Hattieville - while the PUP candidate Dolores Balderamos Garcia is considered strongest in the Ladyville area.
