GSU Nabs Robbers In Progress
posted (February 7, 2012)
THE GSU nabbed a robbery in progress this afternoon. At about 1:45, the Unit responded to a robbery in progress of a tacos vendor on Partridge Street. When they got to the area, the officers noticed three men running from the direction of the robbery scene unto Santa Barbara Street. The GSU pursued, and they ran into a house.

Inside the house, the GSU found 18 year-old Adam Joseph of St Jude Street, 20 year-old Stanley Moore of Faber's Road and 18 year-old Clifford Lorenzo, a student of 2 ½ Miles Western highway. A search was then conducted inside the house near the door of the bathroom where a knapsack was found which contained eight dollars.

Ten dollars and 4 grams of cannabis were found in Adam JOSEPH's pants pocket and 2 US dollars in Stanley MOORE's pocket. A further search was conducted in the yard where the three men were seen running, and a black .25 pistol Jennings brand bearing serial number 1001814 was seen on the ground and next to it was an empty .25 magazine matching the firearm. All three men are detained, pending investigation for robbery and two counts of kept unlicensed firearm while Adam JOSEPH will be charged for possession of a controlled drug. 6 other persons were inside the house, but police say their investigation indicates that they are not connected to the robbery, and that the culprits ran into their house in desperation to avoid police. Adam JOSEPH was convicted earlier on January 24 for possession of a controlled drug while the GSU says Stanley MOORE is an alleged gang affiliate who was arrested on a firearm charge last year.
