posted (February 7, 2012)
Yesterday, we told you about the conviction of 22 year-old Estevan Williams, a resident of San Jose Succotz Village. He was tried and convicted of manslaughter in the courtroom of Justice Troadio Gonzalez for the June 2008 stabbing death of Jerson Paguada Hernandez, a 27 year-old resident of the Salvapan area of Belmopan.

Today, he returned before Justice Gonzalez for sentencing. The court heard mitigation pleas, and Williams also addressed the court on his own behalf saying that he has been on remand since 2008. Based on this, he asked the judge to hand down a lighter sentence.

After hearing all that, Justice Gonzalez sentenced him to serve 10 years in prison, which is to be recorded as though it began on the date of his conviction, which was Friday, February, 3, 2012.
