Marion Conorquie - Chairlady of Freetown Sibun
"It is one of our senior citizens, and he left out from Sunday morning heading to Hattieville. And unfortunately, I don't know what happened. But he went down or he lose control, slipped in the river and drowned."

Monica Bodden
"At this point, you guys think that he may have drowned?"

Marion Conorquie
"Well I think so."

Monica Bodden
"But, I was speaking to other people in the village who also mention to me that he's not a person known to go down by the river."

Marion Conorquie
"Never, from the time I've known him, that is true."

Monica Bodden
"So it makes people wonder?"

Marion Conorquie
"It makes people wonder; it makes me myself wonder. I am trying to put the pieces together. What happened? What really took place?"

Monica Bodden
"So he went missing from Sunday?"

Marion Conorquie
"From Sunday morning he left out of his house at about 8 o'clock, went to Hattieville stating that he was going to buy his lottery, and he did come back. He came back home because a white taxi brought him in. And I don't know what really went wrong, but he went the other way; he went down that side, and, actually, he's a man that does not go down to those areas. I don't know what really happened, tell you the truth i haven't seen the body as yet".

Monica Bodden
"But it was found hooked up in some branches?"

Marion Conorquie
"Yes, it was hooked up in branches. I didn't see the face, so I can't say if he had scratches or what."

Monica Bodden
"But he was trying to hold on to some branches."

Marion Conorquie
"Yes, his hands were like this - you know - like he was trying to hold on to something, or he was holding on to something and the thing broke off or something of this sort. But his hand remains this way. What I am trying to find out is how this happened. And it left this piece of clue that i cannot, you know - like you have a puzzle and your trying to set in that to complete it. That is how it left me, wondering because he came home, and he left the bag out there, but he was nowhere to be found. When the wife got up the morning, she finally saw the bag, and she got the bag saying, 'But, where is Pancho? Pancho came home. Where is Pancho?' And then, she spoke to this man, who spoke to me, and I came. We started to look right away, and there was no Pancho - no sign of Pancho."

Monica Bodden
"So, from the time he left out Sunday morning, his wife hadn't seen him?"

Marion Conorquie
"No, his wife didn't see him come back. He got here at about 6:30 Sunday evening. And that was it. That was the last time he was seen."

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, 73 year old Francisco Reyes was immediately put to rest at his residence. He had one step-son and lived alone with his wife.
