posted (March 14, 2012)
33 year-old Zuner Hernandez and his 32-year-old brother, Roger Hernandez, appeared in court today for allegedly assaulting their Western Paradise neighbor, 31 year year-old Angel Dorado.

According to police, at around 4:00 p.m. on March 3, Angel Dorado was in a yard at 8 Miles on the Western Highway, socializing with a male friend, when the Hernandez brothers drove up.

The Hernandez brothers got into a verbal misunderstanding with Dorado, which escalated into a physical confrontation.

One of the Hernandez brothers was reportedly armed with a firearm, and the other a machete. The gunman fired several shots at Dorado, but all missed, and that's when Dorado responded by attacking Roger Hernandez.

In the altercation between Roger Hernandez and Dorado, both men received multiple chop wounds, and that's when the neighbors got involved and stopped the fight.

In court, Zuner Hernandez was charged with one count of attempted murder, and another for discharging a firearm in a public place. Roger Hernandez was charged with dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. The men are accused of committing these offenses against Dorado.

Dorado was charged with grievous harm which he allegedly committed against Roger Hernandez

Due to the nature of the offense against him, Zuner Hernandez has been remanded to Belize Central Prison. Roger Hernandez was granted bail of $3,000, a thousand of which he had to pay in cash today. He was able to meet bail this morning.

Dorado, who was granted a cash bail of $500 , was not able to meet it and so he is at prison tonight. The matter has been adjourned to April 24.
