Dr. Billie Jean Young, Author
"This was an intervention; we saw a woman in distress and a woman who needed help, and so we decided to do something about it. This book is written in the mother's voice because the mother after her escape, she knew that mothers were always blamed for incestuous behavior of their husbands, and even some people insinuating that they have been in collusion with that behavior, and she wanted to share - to examine her own life to see why she was almost immune to it, and even after she discovered it, she was unable to do anything about it by herself."

Ann Marie Williams, Exec. Dir. of Women's Commission
"I got to read about half this book last night, and it reminded me a lot like a novel from Gloria Naylor entitled "The Women of Brewster Place." Some of you may have read it, but that to say that we all have family secrets, and so I think the book is aptly titled because we will not always talk about it but deep down in the smallest or in the largest part of our hearts, families are torn apart because of secrets; families get mend together sometimes because of secrets, but eventually when you think about secrets that perpetuate abuse on children, abuse on women, whether it's domestic abuse, whether it's gender base violence or sexual violence, it should not be tolerated by any stretch of the imagination."

Family Secrets is on sale for 60 Belize Dollars.
