Political Rivals File Counter-Complaints In OW Court
posted (March 28, 2012)
The election may be over, but political tensions are still running high in Orange Walk.

Orange Walk Town Council's new PUP Sanitation Supervisor Efrain Alpuche and UDP supporter Dillon Jones have counter-charged each other for threatening words.

IT all started with a heated argument on Friday at a paint store in the Town. Jones reported to police that Alpuche - who doubles as the Mayor's driver - had threatened him. And so, on Friday evening, Police arrested and charged him for the use of threatening words against Jones.

After some political drama, Alpuche got bail on Friday night and then filed a counter-complaint against Dillon Jones.

Both men appeared before the magistrate yesterday morning and both pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Jones was told to re-appear on April 25th while Alpuche had to get bail of $750.00 plus one surety.
