Y-Not YC?
posted (March 29, 2012)
YC Belize is one of the Nation's largest youth events - reaching thousands of young people. The one-day annual Christian conference will be held on Saturday at the UB's Gymnasium in Belmopan. It's their 5th year and Christian-inclined young people are invited to be a part of a day filled with positive activities culminating in a concert featuring Belizean and International Christian musical artists. 7news spoke with one of the Organizers today.

Michael Evans, Artist Coordinator - YC Belize
"The conference is geared to positively impacting the young people both on a natural and spiritual basis. Often times we separate the two. We think we are spiritual over here, and we are human over there, but the two are actually intertwined."

"It's a weekend of activities geared towards just trying to positively impact the young people, giving them messages and activities and even a concert that will be like a booster for them."

"Emrand Henry is from St. Lucia and Monty G is from the Bahamas, two are my very friends that are very dynamic on the stage and they deliver the message of God without excuse or without apology."

Emrand Henry, artist
"I do a lot of genres. I do soca, reggae, dancehall; I do a type of music which is French influence which is called Zook. I am well versatile; I do different genres."

Monty G, Reggae Artist
"Life is a balance and at the end of the day we are going to create that balance on the positive side of things. Music causes a lot of influences. Some of it is negative energy and some of it is from life experiences, but we come to represent the other side of that which is Christ music."

"The reality of that is that everything is not negative."
