On September 29 of last year, Police Officer Virgil Perez responded to a burglary in progress at Carlos' Fruit Shop, on Central American Boulevard.

Perez testified under oath that he caught Usher red-handed as he broke a portion of the wall open which he used to enter the shop. He was able to arrest Usher before he could steal anything.

In the trial, Usher told the court that at the time of the alleged burglary that he was at his home drinking alcohol and socializing with his friends. He even denied Perez's sworn allegation that he was caught in the act.

Chief Magistrate did not accept his story, and found him guilty. As a result, she sentenced him to serve 5 years in prison.
