Body Of Man Found On Boom-Hattieville Road; Foul Play Suspected
posted (April 19, 2012)
Ladyville Police are looking for answers tonight after the body of an unidentified dark complexion man was found on the Boom Hattieville Road. A truck driver who saw vultures circling the area went to see what it was, and discovered the Body around 11 this morning.

It was located about 1 mile north of the Hattieville Prison. Police believe that it was an act of foul play since two chop wounds were observed on the head.

7news was on the scene and so was Police Press Officer, Fitzroy Yearwood.

Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer
"Behind us we have a body that was discovered some time around 11:30 this morning in an advanced state of decomposition. This body was partially dressed; the person was wearing a green polo shirt along with a blue jeans pants."

"We found on the scene another purple t-shirt and this person has what appear to be two wounds to the left side of the head, and we can see the marks on the body, so we definitely suspect foul play in this."

"What we have observed out here is that the body was dragged off the highway over a little hill that is behind there and left to the area where it was discovered this morning."

"We believe that some of the fabrics were used to drag the body to where it was left. We are not certain if the injuries were administered to him here or if he was brought here already dead. Of course when the doctor does his examination maybe we can answer some of these questions."

"Actually a truck driver noticed the heavy presents of the buzzers in the area, so he stopped to make checks and found the body and called the police."

"Any identity so far?"

Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer
"Not as yet, we are hoping that someone can come forward, maybe you have a loved-one that has been missing. It's interesting because we found two Fantasy 5 tickets in one of his pants pocket. These were dated the 12th April. They were purchased at that time, we don't know if he went missing from that time. You might know if your relative has gone missing for a while. If you can come forward and help us identify this person, it would be great."

Monica Bodden
"You observe any tattoo marks or anything like that?"

Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer
"None so far. We will wait for the doctor to do his examination. Maybe we can find a distinguishing mark. One mark I can recall is what appears to be a sore on one of his feet; which would appear to be something like a diabetic sore."

The body was in a state of decomposition and police believe it may have been there for 3 days.

If anyone has any information in regards to the identification of the body - you can contact the nearest police station.
