GSG Kingpin Brian Brown Eludes Police
posted (May 17, 2012)
Tonight, George Street Kingpin, Brian Brown, the man known in the streets as "The Father" is a wanted man. Police have a warrant for his arrest and say they intend to charge him for multiple offences, including drug trafficking.

Multiple reports - from his own camp - said that Brown was going to hand himself into police today - in the presence of his attorney - but that did not happen.

And so tonight, he is at large - and is being pursued by police. As we told you last night, it all started at 6:00 on Thursday morning when police got past Brown's imposing 13 foot fence. He was not at home - and so the GSU got a Justice of the Peace to accompany them on the search.

Tonight, we revisit the property to show you what they found:..

Jules Vasquez reporting
This is Brian Brown's surveillance grid - Brown's family claims the 7 empty screens are for inside that the GSU disconnected when they did the search.

Police say that inside one of the bedrooms they found a plastic bag with some cash, and inside the top drawer of a night stand beside the bed, they found $2,420 US cy. They also found a bag inside the laundry basket with $25.00 BCY in $1.00 coins.

And police say they made their biggest find here in the bathroom - where they allege that hidden under the flooring of the basin cabinet, they found a bag with several large pieces of suspected crack cocaine amounting to 307 grams - along with $27.00 BCY in $1.00 coins.

And in the living room in this entertainment center they found $408.90 Bcy in different denominations and a medium size digital gram scale were found.

They claim another big find was made here under the flooring of the kitchen sink - where they found a black bulletproof vest, and two warm hats with one having two holes and what the GSU says is apparent blood stain along with a pair of handcuffs were found.

This is also where they says they found 291 grammes of high grade mariajuana, - which police are now saying is a Mexican variety called Purple Haze that sells for five times the price of regular marijuana. They say it was in a black plastic bag which contained a small packaged wrapped in saran wrap.

They also found one small Ziploc bag containing powdered cocaine amounting to 17 grams along with four digital gram scales in different sizes were also found in the same area.

And, there were also two separate plastic bags with $1,215.75 Bcy in different denominations and $284.00 US cy.

And here in the partition between the Living Room and Kitchen they found this bong which is used for smoking marijauan.

Moving unto the Verandah, police say that on the railing they found 110 grammes of loose cannabis underneath some clothes.

And then going from the house to the downstairs, inside one of these two yellow coolant gallons they found 73 loose small parcels of crack cocaine to a total of 800 grams - which is almost two pounds.

The second yellow coolant bottle was stuffed with 361 grams of cannabis. And inside one of the vehicles in the yard, police found a white bed sheet covered with what they say appears to be blood stains.

And as miscellany, a government license plate was found inside another one of the vehicles. And a freight container, they found one belt buckle with the acronym GSG - as in George Street Gaza and one holster for a .38 pistol.

With all this, a warrant for the arrest of Brian BROWN was obtained and once he is caught, he will be charged for:

Six counts of drug trafficking; One count of Possession of a bong used for the smoking of cannabis, One count of Possession of unregistered bullet proof vest.

Brown's family points to the destruction of property like this - the back door and the scattering of dog faeces all over the house because police locked him inside last night.

They are also claiming that the house was turned upside down - rummaged through and thoroughly ransacked that some of the window louvers were smashed. Tupac and Bob Marley posters cover the living room - including this one.

In the end, the razor wire and the fortress like fence weren't enough to keep out the GSU - whether all they collected will be enough to get a conviction remains to be seen.

The white bed sheet and the mask will be sent to the National Forensic laboratory for analysis. All the money found inside the house totaled to $2,148.90 Belize dollars and $2,734.00 US dollars.

For historical context we note that this isn't the first time police are tangling with Brown. In 2003, they tore down that same fence - but it was improperly done, and government had to pay Brown damages of $20,000 dollars and rebuild the fence.
