Man Says He Did Not Accuse Tyrone/Ellis
posted (June 8, 2012)
Earlier this week we told you about the Meighan Brothers, Ellis and Tyrone, who, according to reports, are at the center of numerous murder plots.

Last Saturday night there was a shooting near their Banak Street home. It resulted in Tyrone Meighan being charged with aggravated assault. He was taken to court on Tuesday for that charge. According to police, 59 year-old Henry Lammey, a security guard posted at the AES Compound on Cemetery Road, reported on Saturday, June 2, at about 12:30 a.m., he was doing his duties as a watchman, when he saw Meighan passing through.

Lammey reportedly said that he was standing beside several watchdogs when Meighan pulled a firearm and fired several shots in his direction but missed. As a result, he called the police, and immediately made a report.

Police detained Meighan the next day, and they formally charged him with aggravated assault and discharging a firearm in public.

But, today Lammey told us he made no such complaint. Here's his side of the story. He asked to appear off camera:..

Henry Lammey
"That is not true because this thing happened so fast that I couldn't even see who it was. I am not sure if it was him; if he brings him in front of me I wouldn't know if it was him."

Monica Bodden
"You didn't see anyone? You didn't see any face?"

Henry Lammey
"I didn't see any face, it was just so quick like flash that passes right through and then after the dogs."

Monica Bodden
"What happened on Friday night?"

Henry Lammey
"I was on patrol and I went to take a little relax. In that time the dogs started to bark. While the dogs were barking I just tilted my head on the side and I see a little flash - quick thing. That's was it, I didn't see any face, or nobody or nothing. But some police officers were out there and they told me that it was this person. I told them that I didn't know who it was. I told them that I didn't see any face."

Monica Bodden
"How did your name come up in this?"

Henry Lammey
"It's because they found some shells down there on the ground, but it was not I."

Monica Bodden
"You couldn't attach a face to whoever was in the compound shooting?"

Henry Lammey
"No, I did not move because of the fear of being shot."

Monica Bodden
"Did police come to question you or anything? You gave a statement or anything as such?"

Henry Lammey
"They had asked me about what happened and I just told them that it happened as quickly as that and that I didn't see anybody. They asked me about the color of clothing. I told them that I didn't see any color clothes. I myself was kind of coward because it was the first time in my life something like that got so close to me."

"I had already called an inspector Jemmott and I told them about it. They say that they don't know how that got out."

In court on Tuesday, Meighan pleaded not guilty to the charges, but due to the nature of the Offenses, Magistrate Hettie Mae Stuart remanded him to prison, until the next adjourned date, which is set for July 5.
