At a time when government is facing it's biggest financial challenge ever with
widespread opposition to the budget and open protest against it, every little
that can be done for them to shine a chivalrous light on their work is being
done. Today one such even took place when the Ministry of National Development
handed over a check for just over $1.2 million to the Social Investment Fund
that will be used to promote pro-poor initiatives. Over $3 million from the
Commonwealth Debt Initiative are yet to be disbursed.
