Phillip "Fawda" Henry
"It happed not in front of me but I would say about 25 yards away when I saw people on the bridge was looking towards Lion King - I was sitting trying to eat my food before I ran a taxi job out there when I heard people saying that a little girl was being rob. When I heard that it was a little girl, I think about my program with safety, so I saw about 20 people running behind this guy who was running down from the bus terminal towards Amara Avenue. That's when I set chase after him. I don't know if this guy was armed but I wanted to catch this guy because he robbed a little girl. I saw the abuse from a distance - that he was abusing this little girl around her neck grabbing her clothes. He had a huge butcher knife in his hand. I thought of my safety at the same time but I went with force and it happens that I ended up winning. I citizen arrest this guy, I brought down another predator who was in the streets robbing our children of their daily lives - their cell phones and money."

"The police came and I am proud of the police. I want to say that I am proud of the police depart and the GSU - the GSU act quickly and got there and arrest this guy before the citizens kills this guy because after that there was over 100 people that was out there trying to get this guy out of that police vehicle for the abuse of the little girl. Henry says pedestrians must be on their guard when walking the street. According to him, the young girl was on her phone texting while walking, which gave the robber an opportunity to surprise her."

And what about the alleged culprit, 22 year old Shane Yearwood from Orange Walk? Well, he was detained by the GSU, but the 14 year old has declined to make a complaint, reportedly on the advice of her uncle.

Yearwood remains detained pending investigation of his possible involvement in other crimes.
