More Triplets At KHMH
posted (August 28, 2012)
In January of this year we reported on a set of triplets born at the KHMH. Well, TONIGHT, another set of triplets making the news. On Friday a 16 year old mother when delivered three little boys - weighing between 3-5 pounds each.

Because the mother is a minor - and the case is complicated we couldn't speak to her, nor could we photograph the newborns, but we did get pictures of them - and the full story.

Voice of: Grandmother
"I am proud grandmother for the babies. The babies will be handed over to me, I don't know when and I don't know the time but I thank God that they are healthy. I thank God that the doctors and nurses did a great job for my grandbabies and I am a very proud grandmother."

"This is the second set of triplets in the family because my mom had triplets of 39 years old, she died already. I am a mother who has twins too and my niece have twins also. I feel so glad because it keeps in the family, God bless the family."

Aisha Rudon, Marketing Manager - San Cas
"We believe that it's our social responsibility as a well establish organization that been in Belize for the past 8 decades that we have to give back to the community that has serve us. This is just a small act of appreciation to our community and we have people that support us countrywide, so we just want to congratulate the parents and the grandmother, she sounded very proud of her triplets and like she said that God will provide for them but San Cas is also here to help them along the way because products that are in here curtails to the need. I think one of the boys is just less than 3 pounds that we have diapers for. I think we are the only ones who bring that product in and we also have products that curtail to new born babies and small babies like they have as triplets right now."

"We also have Ovaltine which is a healthy for mothers for re-vitalization because I am sure after giving birth to triplets she needs some of that we have a case of diaper and a case of wipes and also the presentation of the Kotex package here for mom and the Ovaltine for mom as well."

Dr. Jose Guerra
"She came about 7, she came in labor. We have seen her before because of threat of pre-mature labor and this time when she came she was at 36 weeks and we couldn't stop labor, so we had to continue and perform the C-section. After 34 weeks they are okay - just a little bit pre-mature but they are doing good."

Marion Ali, Reporter
"Does that entail special care? When will they leave the hospital?"

Dr. Jose Guerra
"They will be here more or less for about a week. At 36 weeks they were almost ready but because they were triplets, they are underweight a bit."

The babies were delivered by C-Section and they are in good health. They will be spending roughly another week at the KHMH and then they will be heading to their new home in Lucky Strike village.
