posted (August 31, 2012)
There were two shootings in the city last night - and as a result - a 14 year old is recovering from a gunshot wound to the back - and a 37 year old man is in critical condition at the KHMH.

We start tonight with his story: Isiah Williams was near his home when he was shot to the face, back, neck and shoulder. The shots were intended to kill him - and that he is clinging to life tonight is a small miracle.

7news was on the scene last night and Monica Bodden found out more today:..

Rosalie Williams - Wife
"He received 4 shots; one in the left side of his face, one in his neck, one in his back and one in his shoulder. The condition he is in right now - he went through surgery and the slit under his throat so that he could breathe because he was not breathing. They put a tube down his throat which he uses to breathe through."

"The bullets are still in him and the doctors are looking at the one in his neck because he could be paralyzed for the rest of his life if something goes wrong with the other wing - they said that the neck has 2 wings and one of them are fractured. It's only the other one they are depending on to stay safe that it does not cripple his spine down."

Monica Bodden reporting
35 year old Isaiah Williams was standing in front of this gate when he was shot. It happened on Banak Street around 10:45 last night.

When we arrived on the scene, we found neighbors on the street looking on - as police searched the area for expended shells. Williams had already been taken to the hospital in a vehicle belonging to one of his neighbors.

He was shot to the left cheek, left upper back, left side of the neck and left shoulder and then fell into a drain where he was pulled out by his sister.

This pool of blood marks the spot where he laid as he waited for help.

From what we gathered, Williams was standing in front of his mother's house when two men on separate bicycles approached him - One of the men pulled out a handgun and opened fire.

Neighbors say, they heard up to 5 shots - 4 of which caught Williams. We were told that his condition is critical.

But amazingly, before he was induced in a coma, Williams spoke to his wife briefly at the hospital last night.

And even though he didn't recognize his shooter, he did recall what happened.

Rosalie Williams - Wife
"When I reach at the hospital and I was able to go in I was speaking to him. He spoke a lot to me but he was more crying out because he was in a lot of pain and most of the time when he spoke he brought up a lot of blood through his mouth. I had to sap up the blood from his mouth and I was trying not to let him speak a lot. He told me that 2 young men rode up on bicycles and one ask the other one if that's him and the other one reply yes and they shot him."

"At the time he got shot he had just came in front there. He said that he went to hustle a cigarette because he was in this kitchen cooking. He said he was cooking for his nieces and nephews because they were hungry."

Williams is described by many of his neighbors as a hardworking man who repairs appliances and furniture while also working with CYDP.

According to everyone, he was never a gang banger nor one to come in contact with the law. So for someone to shoot him 4 times came as a shock to his entire neighborhood.

But for his wife, she strongly believes that her husband was shot on the basis of a family situation.

Rosalie Williams - Wife
"They meant to kill him and the only thing I can relate to that I would say have something with my husband getting shot is my sister ex-boyfriend. Why I am saying ex is because about a month ago my mom came from Corozal and my sister is living with this young man for a while and even through her pregnancy she was beaten every time badly that her face were always black and blue and swollen up. Every time I would try to take her to the police station to make a report about this young man she would refuse to go because she says that he tells her that he is going to kill her. She was afraid to go to the police. When my mom came and saw her in that condition she became very angry and took my sister and move her stuff from the apartment that she was living in with her boyfriend. My mom was afraid of the young man also, so she came and ask my husband if he could please go and help them move the stuff."

"My husband is a kind hearted person - he went, but he didn't go alone. He took one of his work man Kinsey with him and both of them went to move the stuff, but before they even enter the apartment room that they were living in - the young man utter a threat to my husband telling him that if he ever dare go in there and move anything from there - that he was going to kill him."

And while Williams was at the hospital fighting for his life, his home was being burglarized.

Rosalie Williams - Wife
"While I was at the hospital they were robbing me because someone stole a television from here. They stole a crockpot that my brother just sent from the US. They stole a blender and a cake mixer from here. I guess if they were able to steal all these heavy appliance that is brand new they would take it too but when I came this morning I was shock because the door was wide open and the stuff were missing. I am not worrying about the stuff that they took because I could always replace those. I am worrying about my husband life that we will not be able to replace if the worse would come. I pray that God will be with him and we will not see the worse."

Williams will be in an induced coma for the next 48 hours - where doctors will be closely observing his condition.

Rosalie Williams - Wife
"He is a fighter for his kids - he loves his kids and his kids love him. His wife loves him regardless of what we go through. I have a love for my husband that I will always have and I will always be there for him. We are together for 19 years now going on to 20."

Monica Bodden
"How many kids you guys have?"

Rosalie Williams - Wife
"3 kids together and he will be a grandfather in December, so I pray that he will make it."

Monica Bodden
"How hard is this for you?"

Rosalie Williams - Wife
"Very hard because you always see these things on TV but nobody know what the next day will bring to them."

No one has been detained for this murder.
