Tonight a 33 year old man is hospitalized at the KHMH with a gunshot wound. But he is also under police guard after allegedly assaulting a police constable.
The man was caught red-handed attempting to break into a house in the Lake Garden area in Ladyville. He was seen by a police constable peeping through the window of the house. When the police constable approached the man, he told him that he was looking for a house.
After they searched him, the found a crowbar.
The special constable says that in an attempt to take the man to the police station, a struggle ensued.
That's when the police constable shot him 3 times in the leg.
The man was taken to the KHMH pending charges for attempted burglary and assaulting a police officer. At the time of the incident, a 20 year old woman was at home inside the house.
