He was taken to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his at approximately 10:15 a.m. So far, nobody has been detained, but police are following a lead on this latest murder."

So far no one has been detained for the brazen mid-morning murder, but according to police they do have a lead that they are following.

Today in an off camera interview with Myvette's manager - she explained the horrific call she received this morning, informing her about what happened.

Voice of: Carla Hart - Meheia United
"I couldn't believe it. One of the workers called and said that David got shot. I immediately left my office en-route to the site. And when I almost arrived, I got another call saying that he had been rushed to the hospital. We met him right there in the vehicle. He had just arrived, and one of my co-workers and I assisted and placed him on the stretcher. Shortly after that, he passed. And when I saw him I was devastated. He was covered in blood. He wasn't able to tell us anything. We weren't able to speak to him. We had just got off the phone with him 5 minutes earlier. He asked for some nails and for caution tape because he was doing some stamp concrete to add a decorative finish."

Carla Hart who is a manager at Meheia United had known Myvette for about 10 years - through the construction work that he has done for the company. It was his 4th week working on this project on Electric Avenue.

Carla Hart
"This is our fourth week on Electric Avenue. We are on the tail end of the project. It's in line with the rehabilitation works going on the city streets. David has actually worked for me for the past 10 years off and on. He has been with me on various projects, and he is one of the guys that I call upon when I have a project, when something comes up. He hasn't worked for me steadily for the past 3 years, but I called him back recently to assist with the street works."

David Myvette is described by many as a hard worker and a family man - Many also believe that his murder may have been one of a mistaken identity. Today he leaves behind his 5 children - and a grandchild on the way.

"We met yesterday on site at around 4:40 p.m., and we had 60 cubic yards scheduled, but it was getting dark, so we decided that we'd split it in half, and we would finish what we had laid out the steel work for. So, that's what we were actually doing. The first truck had gone to the site when I got the call that David had been shot. We meet regularly on the streets. I know all the guys by names. We haven't had any issues, and the residents of Electric Avenue have been superbly in full cooperation with us. If it's a hot day, they bring us water. They no complaints; they have been so grateful that the City Council had paid attention to them because their street was mud and muck. David is one of the hardest working guys I know. David would work Monday to Sunday if you let him. He just joked with me and said that we would go right through until Sunday because we're going to finish this street by then. And on Monday, we're going to go on the next street. I have nothing but admiration for David. We met; we discussed what we were going to do, and he executed. I had no issue with David. He is one of the first people I call when I am in need of a good supervisor on the project."

His murder becomes the 13th for this month. So far police have made no arrests...
