Salima Y Las Limas
posted (November 6, 2012)
On Friday - we showed you the Prime Minister's daughter Salima Barrow and her friends squeezing limes to make Lemonade for a charity sale.

Well, on Sunday she went ahead with her Lemonade stall at the BTL Park - and with a little help from her friends and Bowen and Bowen, it appears to have been a smashing success.

Today, they counted their pennies - and some larger contributions, and she told Monica Bodden how much they raised:..

Monica Bodden
"What was the experience like being out there selling limeades?"

Salima Barrow
"Well you know how we do it; Hayley then me, Abigail, then Gianna."

Hayley Thurton
"A lot of people out there came to buy."

Monica Bodden
"What was your job on Sunday? What did you do?"

Hayley Thurton
"We all did one thing."

Monica Bodden
"Serve the lemonade?"

Hayley Thurton
"Yes."

Monica Bodden
"How was the experience for you? Have you ever done something like this before?"

Hayley Thurton
"No."

Monica Bodden
"First time, you plan on doing something like this again?"

Hayley Thurton
"Yes."

Monica Bodden
"How about you Salima? What you did on Sunday?"

Salima Barrow
"I was giving them fresh limeade."

Monica Bodden
"You did that all afternoon?"

Salima Barrow
"Yes."

Monica Bodden
"How about you Abigail?"

Abigail Thurton
"I put ice in the cups."

Monica Bodden
"You were the ice girl and you did that all afternoon?"

Abigail Thurton
"Yes."

Gianna Saldivar
"I did the money."

Monica Bodden
"You collected the money? You were the money girl out there."

Gianna Saldivar
"Yes."

Monica Bodden
"I understand you guys counted the money today. What was the total?"

Gianna Saldivar
"It was $2,051.20."

Monica Bodden
"That was a lot of money. You guys are going to do what with the money?"

Salima Barrow
"We are going to give it to the kids with cancer."

Monica Bodden
"I notice you guys also were making thank you cards. You are going to give those to who?"

Salima Barrow
"To people that helps us. Thank you everybody that helps us especially Mrs. Shelly and Mr. Michael."

Hayley Thurton
"Thank you to the people who gave us more money."

Abigail Thurton
"Thank you everyone."

Gianna Saldivar
"Thanks to the people who help us."

After the counting was over, the girls earned two thousand, fifty one dollars and 20 cents. They are making arrangements to visit the cancer treatment center in Dangriga where their money will be handed over.
