Today in Orange Walk, Romero Jimenez was convicted of the carnal knowledge of a female child. The child was 12 years at the time of the incident. Sentencing was adjourned.
Christophe Rodriguez appeared for the Crown and Simeon Sampson appeared for the accused.
It is the second time he has been convicted for this but the first conviction was set aside by the court of appeal.
In that first case he was sentenced to serve 17 years for going to the home of the 12 year old, as she was exiting the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her. The allegation is that he followed her to her room, tied her hands, pushed her on the bed and raped her.
