As of Sunday November 25th, with five weeks left to go in 2012 - there have been, unofficially, 130 murders in Belize, one more than the all-time high, in 2010, when 129 murders were officially recorded.
It's a depressing statistic, but one that must be noted in a year that has been the deadliest on record.
There have been three straight double digit months for murders in September, October and November.
That makes seven double digit murder months for 2012; the record-setting year, 2010 had eight double digit months.
