posted (December 4, 2012)
And while that case was going on at the courtroom in Dangriga,

Yesterday inside the town, the owner of the popular Grigalizean Supermarket, was robbed of $60,000 in cash when she went to make a deposit at the bank.

7News spoke to Dangriga Police today and they told us about the information they have so far:

Sgt. Wilfredo Ferrufino - OIC CIB, Dangriga
"About 10 a.m. yesterday, Ms. Hong May Chen reported that at about 9:30, she was on her way to the bank to make a deposit, when she was accosted by a male person. She struggled with that individual, and apparently another individual came and subsequently relieved her a bag that she was carrying with the business deposit."

Daniel Ortiz
"Sir, do you know at this point how much money was in that bag?"

Sgt. Wilfredo Ferrufino
"I wouldn't want to disclose the exact amount, but it's a substantial amount of money from the sales of that business."

Daniel Ortiz
"Sir, in relation to this, has she given you any information as to any kind of identities, or any kind of leads in relation to these men?"

Sgt. Wilfredo Ferrufino
"We are looking for a suspect, a prime suspect, at this moment. Efforts are being made to try to locate him at this time."

Daniel Ortiz
"In relation to Ms. Chen, is this the first time that one of the representatives at that business place has been robbed while trying to make a deposit?"

Sgt. Wilfredo Ferrufino
"Well, as far as to my knowledge, yes, this is the first time."

Daniel Ortiz
"The MO of the individuals, sir, does it suggest that they were running surveillance on the representatives of the supermarket?"

Sgt. Wilfredo Ferrufino
"Well, it would appear as if though that was the situation, and in this incident, we are investigating, and at the conclusion of the investigation, we will determine exactly what happened."

We tried to speak the victim herself today, but she declined comment.
