29 year-old Marvin Nunez met his end right outside the gate of Saint Ignatius Primary School.

7news got there a few minutes after and the blood spot marks where he fell, just a few feet away from the entrance.

Right across the street, the Saint Ignatius Church was deep in service for a funeral in remembrance of a dead loved one; the people in attendance were oblivious to another loss of life happening right outside.

It is one of the biggest schools in Belize City, and about around the time when the school bell rang signaling the end of afternoon break, a gunman ambushed Nunez. The assailant shot him dead execution style, 3 bullets to the head and one to the shoulder.

It didn't matter that there were innocent school children in the area, and other parents who were also outside dropping off their children. The assailant waited patiently, and attacked just as Nunez's girlfriend went onto the compound.

In fact, she heard the gunshots and ran out only to find her boyfriend dying on the street. His family told us off-camera, what they knew so far:

"I just got a phone call about after 1. My sister in law called and told me to go at the hospital because she heard that my brother just got shot by Natius and that he didn't look like he would make it. His girlfriend was with him."

"They had go there to?"

Voice of: Family Member
"They went by St. Ignatius to drop off her kids to school and that was when the incident took place."

"She said to you what she saw?"

Voice of: Family Member
"All she said is that she entered the school yard and from where he was she could have seen her - she heard the shots and when she turned around she saw my brother falling down to the ground and she ran to the gate and found him on the side walk."

According to his family, he moved out of a crime hotspot, but violence still caught up with him.

"He lived at Miller Street by the Complex area not too far from La Croix Boulevard where the shootings were happening and he decided that he needed to move away from there but apparently he went to the wrong area to live."

And now, they are left to wonder why anyone would want to murder their loved one with such deadly precision.

"He is a loving person he doesn't bother anyone. Everybody who knows him know that he is a fun person, he likes to party. That's about it. He wasn't having problem with anyone but I guess the friends he had because he was friends with Keith that was shot behind Complex - he was friends with him and he was executed as well."

Apart from the 2 stepchildren, Nunez was the father 2 other children.

It is important to note that in the interview, the family member mentioned Keith Lewis as being good friends with Nunez. He was murdered execution style as well in July of this year.

In another notable co-incidence, both men were jointly charged with attempted murder for the July 2010 shooting of 25 year-old Frank Sinclair Jr.
