A police officer was killed in the north on Friday - when he experienced a front tyre blowout on his motorbike.
It happened on the Progresso/Chunox Road in the Corozal District on Friday at around 4:30. 34 year-old Police Constable Oscar Escalante seems to have had a blowout on his motorbike and was flung unto the road. He was found lying on the right side of the road in an unconscious state with massive head trauma. His police motorcycle was found lying beside him.
He transported to the Corozal Community Hospital, and was later transported to the KHMH where he succumbed to his injures 7 ½ hours later.
