Police conducted a search last Saturday in an abandoned lot on Rocky Road - which led them to the discovery of two black plastic bags.
Inside the bags were a total of 167 grams of cannabis. No one was in the immediate area and the drugs were deposited as Found Property.
And later that night at about 7:35 Special Branch personnel were in an area on Albert St South when they saw a 17 year old from Kraal Road.
He was seen throwing an object resembling a firearm.
Special Branch personnel proceeded to the area where the object was thrown and found a .38 Revolver. He was arrested and charged for possession of Unlicensed Firearm. According to police, the teenager is a known member of the South Side Gangster's and is also known to commit robberies within the Albert and Regent Street Area.
