21 year-old Ever Alexander Ortiz, a store clerk from the Stann Creek Valley, is in prison tonight after he was taken to court today for allegedly having intercourse with a 15 year-old female minor.
According to police, it happened on December 6, 2012, when she had the encounter with Ortiz, whom she knows very well, at his mother's residence in Belize City. She was taken to a doctor who certified that she was carnally known.
As a result of this report, police arrested and charged Ortiz with unlawful carnal knowledge, and he was arraigned today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer today.
Due to the nature of the offences, he was remanded prison until his next court date, which is scheduled for January 28, 2013.
