In the past two years, Yhony Rosado the owner of Cavetubing.com has emerged as a national figure, well known for his outspoken tirades against bigger players in Cruise Tourism.
But tonight Rosado is IN JAIL, on remand at the Kolby Central Prison in Hattieville. He was arraigned this morning in Belmopan Magistrate's Court on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm upon Vitalino Reyes.
Reyes is a competitor in the tour guide business who owns Cavetubing.bz - very similar to Rosado's Cavetubing.com - which is part of their professional rivalry.
Almost four months ago, on August 23rd, Rosado is accused of going to Reyes's property in Frank's Eddy Village and pulled a gun on 22 year old Vitalino Reyes Jr. Multiple witnesses say he went to the property allegedly to threaten Reyes, Jr. They reportedly had a dispute earlier at a nearby store.
This reported incident we should note was the product of an ongoing rivalry between the two companies. Reyes and six other family members made statements attesting to the event.
Last week, Rosado attested to his innocence in an interview on 7news:
Police took months to investigate - and based on a directives from the DPP's Office picked up Rosado at his home at mile two on the western Highway this morning at 6:30.
He was taken to Belmopan, charged, arraigned and remanded until March 14th, 2013.
And while that is the official remand date - because he has no prior arrests - if he has a resourceful attorney - he should be able to get bail within a week. Supreme Court bail is customarily given on Friday.
