It's the Christmas season, and citizens all across the country are trying to find that Christmas money.
But, one Belize City resident who isn't having that problem - at least not anymore - is Karen Lanza. She won the Lotto 3 months ago and just cashed in her ticket today for the jackpot of more than $57,000 dollars.
7News caught up with her today, and told us how she'll use that money:

"This was any time in the recent past - this was about almost 3 months ago."

"How did you find out that you won?"

"I check the website after every draw."

"What was it like for you knowing that you have this winning here and you were not here to collect?"
Karen Lanza, winner
"Knowing that it was spent from before I bought it and I know it's safe here; I feel confident in just collecting it."

"You decided that this was the day you were going to come in and collect it - do you still buy?"

"Yes I still buy."

"I am sure you have already planned what you are going to do with the money."
Karen Lanza, winner
"Like I said it's spent already; I have a son in college and so you know the expense there but I will squeeze a little for the St. Mary's Feeding Program - that's my charity."

"You live where?"
Karen Lanza, winner
"In Belize City."

"You continued buying while you were abroad?"
Karen Lanza, winner
"I have somebody buy for me and I buy abroad also."

"So you are looking at the bigger jackpot now?"

"Yes."
After taxes, she takes home $48,875. The jackpot which she claimed is not the current one for $105,000, which is still up for grabs.
