Mexican Army Will Build Bridge
posted (December 13, 2012)
And in two follow up items that we don't have space for on last night's news - and hardly have time for tonight…we note first a report coming out of Quintana Roo that that the Mexican Senate has authorized new President Enrique Peña Nieto to send 11 elements of the Mexican Army to come across to Belize to help to build 800 meters of road to the new bridge linking Mexico and Belize.

A colonel, a captain, a lieutenant and eight troop elements of the Mexican Army Engineers, will participate in the construction of the new road. They must travel to Belize without weapons and uniforms, for a period of four months.

And, in a follow up to the story we did about the FFB's complaint about the use of the MCC Grounds for a concert, the National Sports Council has replied. That organization which manages the field says that Belizean Organizations can rent any of its facilities for non-sporting functions, provided that the event does not conflict with sporting events - in which case the sporting event will get preference.

The FFB had complained that concerts damage the pitch.
