posted (December 27, 2012)
And Nunez's murder became the second stabbing death in the Stann Creek district in three days. As we reported, on Sunday night 23 year old Robert Alexander Pinnock was stabbed to death in Dangriga Town.

The man who allegedly did it has since been arrested and charged, but to Pinnock's family, it's no compensation for his loss, especially because the accused is his very close cousin.

7News caught up with his father today, and he became very emotional when he told us that he personally questioned the accused:

Sgt. Wilfredo Ferrufino - OIC Dangriga CIB
"On the 22nd December Police visited the Emergency Room of the Southern Regional Hospital where they saw one, Mr. Pinnock suffering with a stab wound to the left side of his chest. He was undergoing treatment and succumbs to his injuries about 10:52pm that same night. Investigations have revealed that Mr. Pinnock was at a private function in the New Site area of Dangriga when he got into an altercation with Glenford Chavez who inflicted the injuries to him."

Daniel Ortiz
"Tell us what's the situation with Mr. Chavez, has he since been charged?"

Sgt. Wilfredo Ferrufino - OIC Dangriga CIB
"On the advice of the DPP we went ahead and charge him. On the 24th December he was formally arrested and charged for the crime of murder."

Robert Pinnock Sr. - Father of Deceased
"Upon reaching at the hospital seeing my son in the emergency room fighting for his life."

Daniel Ortiz
"I see it's very difficult for you. Do you know anything about the actual stabbing incident? Who stabbed him?"

Robert Pinnock Sr. - Father of Deceased
"Yes it was one of his cousins."

Daniel Ortiz
"What would drive one cousin to stab another sir?"

Robert Pinnock Sr. - Father of Deceased
"I spoke with the accused and ask him what lead up to this." [crying]

Daniel Ortiz
"Did he give you an adequate explanation?"

Robert Pinnock Sr. - Father of Deceased
"Yes, they were at a gathering taking a drink and he look at Bobby and he told him something about the tennis. His cousin usually sells tennis to him but apparently Bobby didn't finish pay him for the tennis, I don't know if it's for one or two tennis because my son doesn't tell me about his business. He told me that his cousin spill a drink on him and he spill it back and he says that my son beat up on him. I didn't ask him anything more because I already knew."

"The youth that did it - I don't believe, he comes here every day, they are loving; they hang out every day. The youth us nice, easy and mannerly, he has never lost his respect to me."

According to police, Glenford Chavez was arraigned and remanded today in the Dangriga Magistrate's Court.
