An hour before news time, 15 year-old Andre Arthurs and his mother, Sharee Trapp, came to our studio to complain about a police officer who allegedly gave him a wound under his left eye.
It is a strange incident where the Nazarene High School Student was sitting in a bus which was on Treasury Lane waiting for the traffic to move.
Someone from the bus hurled an item at one of the vendors. The vendor believed it was Arthurs, and they started to fight.
One of the police officers from the Magistrate's Court responded, and according to Arthurs the officer used excessive force:

"The bus stop in town and the peanuts man who sells there - some girls in front of me boom him but he thinks it was me and he came and open the back door and pull me by my foot and then the conductor came and lock the door. I open the door and I went outside and he and I started to fight. He hit me and then the policeman came to separate us and then pull me by the shirt and choke me and slams me into the fence and the he slaps me."

"Who gave you that thing on your eye?"
Andre Arthurs
"The policeman."
Daniel Ortiz
"You are certain sir?"
Andre Arthurs
"Yes sir."
Daniel Ortiz
"We have certain information that at first you were saying that it was the peanuts man who hit you with the rock."
Andre Arthurs
"He hit me over this side and the policeman slaps me around here."
Daniel Ortiz
"The actual fight - could you not have avoided that?"
Andre Arthurs
"He was coming at me; I can't stay there and let him hit me for nothing."
Daniel Ortiz
"When the police officer came, were you resisting his authority?"
Andre Arthurs
"I just stay there and he slams me against the fence and slaps me. I didn't do anything."
Daniel Ortiz
"Do you know who the officer is? We can't call his name but do you know this officers' identity?"
Andre Arthurs
"Yes sir."

"I am so pissed off. The police saw the kid in a uniform, why should he beat the kid like that? He shouldn't have choked him. Can you imagine a man 35 years old fighting with a 14 year old boy - you should have stop the man from beating the kid. Dean Barrow needs to check the police officers because this is pass the limit."
Sharee Trapp told us that as soon as she left our office, she was going to take Arthurs to the hospital, and they will make a formal complaint against the officer as soon as possible.
