"This particular project had to do with renovating two private rooms in the maternity ward and we approach Courts Belize Limited to assist and we mentioned it to Dr. Guerra that we were planning to do this and he immediately jumped on board and said that he would donate towards this cause. Of course he is one of our more prolific gynecologists, so he just loves the idea that we would have this type of amenity available to patients who would want to access it. You can see the room, it's nicely decked out. We have all the amenities; TV, fridge, lounge, couch, recliner, bedside tables and bathroom."

"The bathroom was here but not in this shape that it now in. It's a huge improvement. You have to remember that this hospital is 16 years old and these rooms during that time never got a facelift. So we did everything that was necessary to bring them back up to mint condition as far as we could and to equip them so that patients would have a comfortable stay and would access to all the amenities that they need while they are here."

"What happen - it was a long process. We were approach with what specifically they wanted because due to being a hospital it has specific guidelines of what we should have in the rooms. However with that selection we sent pictures, they approved and we decided on a sofa bed and two TCL TV and two Mabe refrigerator. The value of the items is approximately about $8,000 and that's all inclusive of both rooms."

The Adopt-A-Ward program entitles interested persons to adopt, sustain or maintain a wall, hall, ward or room in the hospital.
