33 year old OREN HUMES was killed here - this feeder road - off the Burrell Boom Road last night.
This morning police re-visited the area - in the hopes that they could find some physical evidence which could nto be seen last night.
Oren Humes was ambushed in this this Jeep Cherokee riddled with bullet holes from at least two gunmen. One who shot through the back,
And one who shot through an open window on the side, the bullets piercing the opposite door and smashing the opposite window there was also a bullet hole through the windshield.

"We came out here, we found a vehicle and the male person in it was motionless, unresponsive and deceased. He had multiple injuries. The area was dealt with and we have collected items out of the area and we are looking into what may have been the details of his
demise."
It appears that Humes was ambushed. At around 8:30, the Ladyville resident dropped off a friend at a home down this road - but he never got out. Asking to appear off camera, his family says he was being watched.

"We were told that he was being followed from about Friday and throughout the weekend. I guess someone really had it out for him, we don't have any idea who this or these person/s are. I think he got approximately about 17 shots or they found that amount of bullet cases. We were told there were about 5-6 gunmen."
A ruthless killing and the loss of a father of four:

"We know that he had friends that are on the wrong side of the law, but my brother was always there for his friends - that was what he was doing - dropping off a friend at home at the time when he met his death. He was a person that kept up the family, always joking around, and big smiles. He looks after his kids and his family. He would do anything for his family, we will miss him greatly. We know the justice situation, so we know exactly how the situation will end up - that's the part that angers us the most."
Oren's brother Adrian Humes was killed ten years ago on March 5, 2003.
No was ever convicted for the election night murder of Adrian Humes. As for Oren Humes, his youngest child was eight months old.
