There was an early morning fire yesterday at the corner of West and Bishop Streets. Around 4 yesterday morning, 42 year old Charles Herrera was asleep inside his apartment located on the upper flat of the two story wooden building, when he was awakened by the sound of barking dogs.
While opening his entrance door to make checks, he saw that the building was on fire. The 2 story apartment building
is the property of Hiram Baptist and is valued at seventy two thousand dollars. The building and contents were completely destroyed but luckily no one was injured. The cause of the fire is still unknown and we understand that the building is insured.
