And then there is the other side to this story. Today 7news caught up with the mother of Abel (Able) Arana who believes that her son was chanced out of his life. Caroline Castillo claimed that her son was indeed friends with Mini-Man Martinez. She wanted to speak out about certain allegation made against her son that she claims is false:

"Well his friends told me that they set up my son. And that hurt me a lot becasue his friend went on TV, and said that my son and his friend are not friends. They are friends because my son's baby's birthday was thursday. The same boy that killed him was at his house celebrating the birthday with him. He said he came for his cake. They drank and they where hanging out together. So my son never expected when he went to see him., that they had intentions to hurt him. My son didn't go there with a gun, because if he had gone there to kill him why not leave the gun on the scene, so the police can fine the gun? Where is the gun now? That is what I believe in my heart. They set him up, and they ment to do so. Then, his friend spoke on TV. I am not happy with that and I am waiting for the police to do their full investigation. And I want the truth come out, because the boy and he are friends. He planned it. He set it up. And that was his intentions to do, and he did it. Then his friend goes on TV and talks all this nonsense, that my son went there to kill him. And it was more than one of them. When my son was taken at the morgue his cloths was dirty. They beat him. You can see where he was trying to struggle for life when they beat him. There was more than one of them. I know there was more than one of them. His father said there was 6 or 7 of them, and I believe so. 1-2 of them can't approch him just like that. Anybody will try fight and defend their life., anybody even my son. That is what I believe in my heart, and the truth will come out because God is not asleep."
Arana's mother also mentioned to 7news that her family had no involvement in the arson that happened at the home of Tiffarah Usher nor are they responsible for any threats. Abel Arana was the father of a 1 year old child.
