Missing Girl Was With Aunt
posted (April 29, 2013)
On Friday, 7News told you about 14 year-old Anna Aguilar, the girl who went missing on Tuesday. Well, tonight, she's safely back with her family. Apparently, her family doesn't have telephones to keep in communication, so they didn't know that she was with her aunt the entire time.

So, she's now safe with her mother, but it was an extremely stressful and scary experience for the family because it was the first time that she went missing.

The mother came back today to tell us that she almost had a mental breakdown because a member of the public made a terrible prank call to her, apparently attempting to extort her for money.

She explained how the person called in claiming to have her daughter, and that he would kill her if she didn't pay a substantial amount of money:

Christina Quinote
"I went to the Malik store and I was going through the burying ground and I met my daughter was going home. I asked her where she was and she said that she was at her aunt. I told her to come home and she said she didn't want to go home. I brought her back home with love and told her that I thanked God she was safe. Saturday morning they called my husband to tell him that they wanted to talk with me. My husband called back the person and I told him 'Do you have my daughter?" He said he had my daughter and that she was in Melchor and I asked him what was the reason she was over there and he said that she went over there with a boyfriend. I told him I couldn't believe him and he said if I didn't give him $25m for my daughter then he would cut my daughter's head off. I started to scream and prayed that it wasn't so. Thank God that didn't happen."

Quinote told us that as soon as she left our office, she would go to the police to make a report and hand over the phone number which called her.
