A new book called Expressions was launched today. It is a collection of poems celebrating motherhood penned by the prolific Norman Rodriquez. It is his 3rd major collection of poems and he launched it today at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts.
And even though the book is launched right before Mother's Day- Rodriquez clarified that it is not a mother's day book, per se. He explained that these poems are not just for a day, they are for all time:

"It's a collection of poems celebrating Motherhood and I take this opportunity to use it as a way to wish all Mothers in Belize and the world a Happy Mother's Day. There are 45 poems celebrating Motherhood eventhough the book is being launched near to Mother's day it is not a Mother's Day book. It is a collection of poems celebrating motherhood, different aspects of motherhood".

"In this one 'my woman, my wife' because I am now married and of course I want to give respect recogntion to my wife. Patriotic collection was gathered some time ago. My last book was a multi-theme book which touched on different aspects of different issues that people face in everyday life. This one is a single theme; it is motherhood and just to get to what you asked me; it talks about death; the losing of a Mother; it talks about those mothers who 'piggy back' on the good motherhood that some other mothers do and it especially celebrates the different aspects of motherhood that are good; those people who take time out to mother the children of other mothers when they may be abscent or unable to ; I think that is the most part that is celebrated in this book"
