Tonight, the Gang Suppression Unit is in possession of 2 weapons and a stash of weed, which they found in the Mayflower area – the base of the Ghost Town Crips.
This morning, just before 10:30, officers from the GSU searched an abandoned lot behind #5 Mayflower Street, where the discovered 1 pink plastic bag. Inside, they found 5 plastic bags of cannabis to a total amount of 613 grammes, or one pound 5 ounces.
The officers continued to search among the garbage and the bush, and they found a small brown metal ammunition can under an old microwave. Inside the can, they found a chrome Magnum.357 revolver which was loaded with 4 live rounds of .38 ammunition, and a black Luger brand 9mm pistol which was loaded with 3 live rounds of ammunition.
Scenes of crime personnel dusted both weapons for fingerprints, and they found 2 on the .357. Both weapons will be sent for ballistics testing.
The GSU believes that there is a key Ghost Town Crip who lives nearby to this abandon lot. This is also the same location where the GSU found a firearms cache ranging from pistols to an AK-47 in March of last year.
