Lebanese Caught With Ammo, Get Remanded

Tonight, 43 year-old Businessman Nazim Nasser, 19 year-old Jamal Nasser, 18 year-old Hilal Nasser, and 36 year-old Jaziba Nasser, are all in prison after they were allegedly busted with unlicensed ammunition yesterday.

According to San Pedro Police, at around midday, they conducted a raid on the family's home on Coconut Drive, where the officers executed a search warrant for illegal firearms and ammunition.

Inside one of the bedrooms, the officers found metal safe, which contained 6 live rounds of 22 ammunition. All 4 who were present, were arrested and charged with keeping unlicensed ammunition.

They were arraigned today before Magistrate Sherign Rodriguez where Jamal Nasser accepted blame and pleaded guilty to the charge. He even accepted the police's version of events, and was staring down a minimum sentence of 3 years in prison. After his attorney explained the severity of the penalty to him, Jamal Nasser changed his plea to not guilty, and as a result, all 4 were remanded to prison.

They will be taken back to San Pedro Magistrate's Court on November 29, their next court date.
