DRUG TRAFFICKING TO COURT...
posted (October 25, 2013)
Tonight, 27 year-old Kaylani Gentle, 30 year-old Marcella Vayes, 21 year-old Delia Martinez, 47 year-old Jose Moralez, and 24 year-old Pedro Campos are all at prison tonight after they were taken to court for trafficking in cocaine.

At around 3:30 yesterday evening, San Pedro Police raided Captain Guts Bar looking for illegal drugs and firearms. All 5 defendants were present, when the officers found a red ashtray under the counter of the bar. It contained 20 small parcels of crack cocaine to a total weight of 1.47 grams. They were all arrested and charged with drug trafficking. Gentle was allegedly caught with a pipe and 0.17 grams of powdery cocaine inside a cigarette pack. She was additionally charged with possession of a controlled drug, and possession of pipe.

They were all arraigned today in Magistrate's Court where Martinez, who works at Captain Guts as a bartender, was attempting to plead guilty to the charge. When she realized that she was facing 3 years in prison and a ten-thousand dollar fine, she changed her plea to not guilty. All 5 defendants were then granted bail of $6,000, which none were able to meet. They will remain there until they can make arrangements for bail, and they must return to court in December.
