The National Trade Union Congress of Belize has expelled the Christian Workers Union, just as the umbrella group said it would. The NTUCB took the decision unanimously at a special general council meeting yesterday. The NTUCB made its position clear in a press release 10 days ago saying that that CWU Leaders were compelled to stick by a timeline that President Antonio Gonzalez had publicly committed to in August. The CWU Leader, backed up by the majority of its member groups have decided instead to push that meeting back to February 2014. The NTUCB presided over an abortive attempt to hold an AGM last week Saturday but they failed to get a quorum.
