Police detained the men and escorted them to the items, which were discovered to be 9mm Beretta pistol, loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition; 2 additional magazines, each containing 15 live rounds of ammunition, a black ski mask, a 9 mm Browning pistol, and a magazine containing 13 live rounds of ammunition.

As a result, both men were charged with multiple firearm and ammunition charges, and they stood trial before Magistrate Hamilton in Corozal. After the prosecution presented all the evidence they had against the men, their attorney, Arthur Saldivar, made a no-case submission.
